The way you eat affects your entire life. The healthier the food you eat, the better you are suited to handling illness and stress. Our bodies are designed to take nutrients from the food we consume. Starting your day with a nutritious breakfast sets you up for a good day.
Everyday starts with some form of breakfast. If we took a moment to consider our choices of meal, we can better prepare for the day. My favorite breakfast is pancakes with eggs and bacon. But the fat and sodium content are pretty high in traditional Southern cooking. So when I looked at what makes me healthier I changed my ingredients around.
Typically I have 6 small portion meals daily. The small meals are better digested and the frequency gives me natural boots of energy rather than be dependent on caffeine for my energy. I find this method also eases my cravings and helps me manage my snacking habit.
One of my favorite things is a smoothie in the morning to really get my day started. I always use 1 whole banana with yogurt and milk or if I want to skip dairy, I’ll use a juice like pomegranate or orange mango.
