It seems that I’ve fallen into the same trap many bloggers find themselves in when they first start. I procrastinated until I realized I hadn’t written a single thing since October last year, oops. This second pregnancy has been a blessing, but I will not miss the pregnancy brain fog once my daughter is born. I finally feel more organized and put together, so I am hoping to set up a nice posting routine.
Where to begin on the updates to my life? As I’ve previously mentioned I am pregnant with my second child. We are so excited to be adding a little girl to our family. While this pregnancy is wonderful for us, my body hasn’t been handling it well. As such I am on light bed rest since I am so high risk. Being that I have a busy toddler to raise and a household to run, my wonderful mother flew from Florida to California to be with me the remainder of this pregnancy and once the baby is born. She has truly been a blessing and I’ve enjoyed spending so much time with her. As a military family we live quite far from our loved ones back home.
I am in awe of the fact that I am about to embark on the journey of being the mother of two children. I must admit I am somewhat nervous of this task before me. I know this nervous feeling is a natural one that all parents go through. I’m sure that while there will be an adjustment period we’ll get into the swing of things in no time.
My son is now 15 months old. He is wicked smart and I’ve begun his early learning skills. So far he really enjoys coloring, practicing his ABC’s and 123’s, and helping me in my herb garden. He loves to try new things and has fully embraced the toddler way of doing things. I love watching him explore his world.
As for my wonderful husband, he’s really gotten the hang of Navy life. We all had an adjustment period when he went to boot camp. We’ve had our ups and downs since living in California but overall things are really good here. He is so excited to meet our little girl. I fall in love all over again every time he talks to my tummy. We are at 25 weeks and counting! Only a few more months and we’ll have our newest addition. I cant wait to see my husband’s new daddy face again.
Last but in no way the least, our wonderful and cheeky cats. Little Foot just had his second birthday with us. It’s amazing having watched that tiny kitten turn into a monster sized kitty with a heart of gold. He is a playful, sweet and sometimes cheeky boy. Aloy has been doing excellent. As she is a rescue cat she does have some eccentricities. I found that the move really helped her to grow and jump over her last few hurdles in her recovery. She truly is a sweetheart and loves her ever expanding dress collection. I swear she has more dresses than I do.
I’d say life is really good and while we have rough patches now and again, I am so happy to live the life I do. I am so thankful for my friendships I’ve made here on base, for the service of my husband and the love and support of my family. Everyday is a blessing and I am truly happy.
